I have been in business for over 8 years now and there is always this one thing that keeps rearing her ugly head… my inner critic, my negative nelly.

That voice inside that is telling me…

“You are not good enough”

“Will anyone buy my product, maybe people will hate it”

“Who am I to think that I am good enough to create this”

You get the picture.

You would think that after 8 years or so in business that this wouldn’t happen anymore and that I should be totally confident, because you know what I actually do know my stuff.

I really do know my stuff so why do I let that negative nelly get the better of me?

Fear is one of those things that stops me in my tracks and sends me into good old procrastination and overwhelm.

So, how do you deal with this and then move on?

Acknowledge Your Feelings

Your feelings are your feelings and it is ok to temporarily doubt yourself. Take 5 minutes to acknowledge these feelings and then tell yourself ‘it’s ok, I have got this’.

Tell you inner critic (who is only trying to protect you) that you are ok, so that you can move forward.

Write Down Your Goals

Sometimes when Negative Nelly hits it is due to overwhelm and worrying that you won’t get things done so instead you just doubt yourself instead.

Use Affirmations

Find some affirmations that you can use to inspire you and get out of the rut. If this isn’t something that works for you then you can find something

Listen to Inspiring Podcasts

Find some inspiring podcasts that will help get your mojo back. I find listening to others really motivates me to get me moving and soon helps me forget my inner critic.

I love the girls over at Being Boss Podcast and Marie Forleo is also great so give them a try.
